  • Gender Reveal parties July 25, 2014
I’m hearing about this new trend in the baby world: the gender reveal party. What happens is the doctor or sonogram tech writes the gender in a sealed envelope which is then delivered to a baker. The baker then bakes either a pink or blue cake with neutral frosting. Then a reveal party is hostedRead more...
  • Songs of Summer July 22, 2014
It happens every summer. An ear worm hits the airwaves and it’s in your head all summer. Some I like, some I could live without. (Remember the summer of Gangam style). This summer, I’m humming along to Imagine Dragons, On Top of the World, Fancy by Iggy Azalea, and I could live without Happy byRead more...
  • Pokemon Tournament July 9, 2014
This weekend my boys begged me to drive them to a local Pokemon tournament at a local comic/collector shop. Get it Together Tuesday: Mistress in the Making

This is the shameless plug blog.  I have a new story coming out tomorrow. “Mistress in the Making” will be available from Ellora’s Cave. I’m very excited for you to read this story; it is one of my favorite things I’ve written.

In it, eldest sister, Charlotte makes some tough and sometimes stupid decisions in her attempt to help her family. So let me ask you, what are some stupid things you’ve done for love? C’mon, you know you’ve done them. Fess up.  I’ll go first.

My stupid thing was that I didn’t study abroad my junior year of college. I’d been dating my guy for 2 years, and it seemed too devastating to leave for 6 months. We told ourselves we’d travel when we married.

We did eventually get married (still are), and we have traveled internationally, but it is a totally different experience than living in a foreign country on your own for several months. I definitely regret not going. Our relationship was strong enough to withstand the time apart. And I’ll never be 20 with no children again. What about you? Ever do anything stupid in the name of love?
